For the two Italian amateurs, 2018 European champions with the Girls Team, participation in the Junior Ryder Cup will be an experience that will further increase their level of competitiveness. Emilie Alba Paltrinieri, born in Paris in 2001 and a member of the Veneto-based Villa Condulmer club, will be making her second appearance in the event, after her first in 2016. Alessia Nobilio, from Milan, born in 2001 and a member of Golf Club Ambrosiano, will instead be making her debut in the Europe-USA challenge.
Together with the two Italians, Austria's Emma Spitz, England's Annabell Fuller, Sweden's Amanda Linner and Ingrid Lindblad, Spain's David Puig and Eduard Rousaud Sabate, England's Conor Gough and Robin Williams and the Danish twins Nicolai and Rasmus Hojgaard will be in the continental team, captained by Ma\u00eftena Alsuguren. The US line-up, directed by Allen Wronowski, will instead consist of Boys Akshay Bhatia, Canon Claycomb, Michael Thorbjornsen, Ricky Castillo, William Moll and Cole Ponich and Girls Lucy Li, Yealimi Noh, Rose Zhang, Rachel Heck, Erica Shepherd and Alexa Pano.
After five consecutive US victories, the last one by 15.5-8.5 at Interlachen GC in Minnesota in 2016, Europe will try to reverse the trend. The balance, after ten editions, is six US wins, two European wins and two draws. It will be played with a format inspired by the Ryder Cup: six foursomes on the first day, three with boys\u2018 pairs and three with girls\u2019 pairs, and a further six match fourballs with six mixed pairs. On the second day, twelve singles.
