Golden Ball to Alessia Nobilio

In the Press Room of the Italian Open, the AIGG, Italian Association of Golf Journalists, presented the Pallina d'Oro 2017 - Marco Mascardi Award to Alessia Nobilio, a 16-year-old amateur from the Ambrosiano Golf Club who has achieved excellent results at international level. This season she won the Junior Internationals in Belgium and came second at the World Junior Championship and the French Internationals. She also took part in the Pro Am of the 74th Italian Open, representing the Lombardy Region, in the team led by Sergio Garcia.

"It was a fantastic experience. Garcia is very kind and helpful, playing with him was really a great emotion. Then it was indescribable to receive his hug and the autographed ball after I made a hole-in-one on hole 12."
The young golfer already has clear ideas about her future:
"I am going to study at a university in the United States and I am sure it will be a great experience. My wish is to become a professional on the American circuit."

This year was the 13th edition of the AIGG Pallina d'Oro, which has been named after Marco Mascardi since 2015. The award was realised by Conti Argenti.

During the press conference, the AIGG donated two cheques to charity in favour of the Associazione Amici Bambini Cardiopatici dell'Ospedale Infantile Regina Margherita di Torino (Association of Children with Heart Disease at the Regina Margherita Children's Hospital in Turin) and the ASD Golf per la Vita (Golf for Life). In addition, in collaboration with the AITG (Italian Association of Golf Technicians) a career plaque was awarded to Walter Gabaglio, director of the Monticello Golf Club.
