Alessia Nobilio and Alessandra FanaliThey are the young Italian amateurs who are winning and convincing in women's golf.
The first at the English Women's stroke play Championship in England, the second in California in the LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying School Stage: Italy's show continues.
Nobilio, 21, from Milan, at Cannock and on the Beau Desert Golf Club course, overcame Denmark's Christina Thouber on the third play-off hole after both had closed the 72 regulation holes with a total of 287 (+7) strokes.
The only Italian in the competition, she became the first Italian to win the tournament (institute in 1984).
Successo di peso pure per la Fanali. La 23enne originaria di Fiuggi, a Rancho Mirage è riuscita nell’impresa di affermarsi, da dilettante, nel primo stage delle Qualifying School LPGA ed Epson Tour. Imponendosi con un totale di 274 (69 67 69 69, -14) strokes ahead of two other amateurs: Thailand's Natthakritta Vongtaveelap and Colombia's Valery Plata, both 2/e with 275 (-13).
